Alabama singer/songwriter Walon Smith plays his eclectic brand of rock 'n' roll on college campuses, in music halls, and at gas stations throughout the Southeast. Too Far Gone, his solo debut on Explosivo Records, combines the influence of artists like the Beatles, Elvis Costello, and Neil Young to create an addictive blend of pop, rock, and country.

Aside from Walon's singing and playing of various instruments, Too Far Gone features performances by such Southeastern musical luminaries as Leif Bondarenko, Eric Onimus, Greg Nobles, Phil Proctor, Tim Boykin, Al Angelo, and John P. Strohm. The true stars on this album, however, are the songs themselves; from the psychedelic swirl of "Every Finger Torn Away" and the infectious pop groove of "Juliana" to the gentle heartbreak of "Salt and Water", each tune is a winner.

Known as a skilled guitarist, bassist, drummer, and vocalist, Walon has been involved with such projects as The Bugs, Big Blonde, The Lolas, and his latest forum for original material, Walon and the Wilton Playboys. As a studio musician, Walon has worked with such notables as Will Kimbrough, Ed Reynolds, and John P. Strohm, and is in demand as a recording engineer/producer with his studio, known simply as Walon's House.

Check out Walon's Too Far Gone album for yourself, and keep an eye on it. It's one of those CDs your friends will want to borrow... and "forget" to give back.
